Understanding Payment Options
At Hickory Grove Post Acute, we work with residents and families to make the financial side of care as clear and manageable as possible. Our admissions team is available to answer questions, verify benefits, and help you understand coverage before admission.
Medicare Coverage
Residents may qualify for Medicare Part A skilled nursing coverage when the following conditions are met:
- The resident has a Medicare card that includes Hospital Insurance (Part A)
- Admission to the facility occurs within 30 days of a qualifying hospital stay
- The hospital stay included at least three consecutive midnights
- Admission is ordered by a physician
Coverage details:
- Days 1–20: Medicare typically covers 100% of approved skilled nursing costs
- Days 21–100: A daily co-insurance amount is required
- After 100 days: Medicare Part A no longer covers skilled nursing services

Daily Rate for Skilled Nursing Care
Daily rates include room, board, and a wide range of supportive services designed to keep residents comfortable and well cared for.
Included in the Daily Rate:
- Three meals per day in the dining room or rehabilitative dining areas
- Tray service and snacks
- Special diets as ordered by a physician
- Assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility, hygiene)
- Daily housekeeping
- Bed and bathroom linens
- Medication administration as prescribed
- 24-hour supervision by licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants
- Feeding assistance when needed
- Planned activities and recreational programs
- Social services support
- Discharge planning and referral services
- Furnished rooms in accordance with state and federal regulations
Accepted Payment Sources
Hickory Grove Post Acute participates with a variety of payment options, including:
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Private insurance
- HMO plans
- Private pay

PLEASE NOTE: The daily room rate does NOT include the following: Physician visit charges, dentist visit charges, medication, and sundry items, resident care medical supplies and materials, incontinent care supplies/linens, special physician ordered therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, diagnostic tests, and other specialized care procedures, etc.
